Giving to the Annual Fund

Our Annual Fund is a fundraising program designed to generate gifts supporting the programs, services, and activities on an annual basis. Each year, the gifts generated by this effort provide necessities and amenities in critical areas of our operation that otherwise would not be available due to the budgetary constraints under which we must operate in order to keep our membership dues and program fees affordable to all who seek to participate.

All gifts to the Annual Fund are fully tax deductible. Donors may specify where within the broad range of operations their gift should be applied. And, most importantly, each gift, regardless of amount, serves to make our JCC stronger and better capable of meeting the needs of our membership and those we serve. Individuals may make gifts by check, cash, or credit card at the front desk or by mail. Gift designation cards are available at the front desk.

Create an Endowment & Leave a Legacy

An endowment is a permanent fund, established by an individual or family, to provide perpetual support for the St. Paul JCC. These funds are invested in securities or other income producing instruments. Earnings from this fund will be applied to a donor-specified or general purpose within the expressed mission. Any aspect may be endowed, thus insuring that there will always be support for programs or activities of particular interest to the donor.

An endowment may be established at the St. Paul JCC through a gift of cash or the transfer of securities or other property. A Letter of Agreement is signed affirming the donor's charitable intent and specifying future distribution of earnings of the fund. Payments to fund the original endowment may be made over an agreed upon period of time. Management of endowment funds is handled day-to-day by professional fund managers under the guidance of the Endowment and Investment Committees of the Board of Directors. Distribution of earnings is determined by a spending formula approved by the Board of Directors.

The donors of endowments and their heirs, where appropriate, will be informed annually of the performance of investments and the earnings of each fund. They will be apprised of the specific uses of the earnings of their endowment and the status of the program their endowment sustains.

Creators of endowment funds are welcomed into membership in the St. Paul JCC Generation to Generation Society. A plaque commemorating establishment of an endowment will be placed on the donor wall near the east entrance of the building.
