Families Forward is a mini conference for parents and professionals to gain useful information and tools to better support children of all abilities. Well-known Twin Cities’ professionals and organizations will cover a wide array of issues including:
- Tina Feigal M.S., Ed. is the founder of the Center for the Challenging Child, LLC. Tina is a popular parenting coach who will present When the Issue is the Environment: Sensory Processing. Visit Tina’s website.
- Libby Bergman, LICSW of the Family Enhancement Center will discuss sexuality and our children. Learn more about Libby and her work.
- Mitch Wittenberg Ph.D, LP of Jewish Family Service of St. Paul answers your questions in Ask the Child Psychologist.
- Lyn Mitchell of AMAZE, will offer help on how to speak to children about advocacy, differences and controversial topics. Lyn is a founding member of AMAZE.

Movie and Game Night in the Teen Lounge!
Every Wednesday, 6:30-8:30 pm
For teens in grades 8-12
Join the Highland Friendship Club for movie and game nights in the teen lounge! Movie and game nights alternate every other week. Only the best movies are viewed followed by a wrap-up discussion about the movie with staff and friends. Game nights are full of fun playing Wii, ping pong, foosball and much more!
Club Kulanu
Entering its second year, Club Kulanu is designed for individuals with developmental disabilities ages 16-22 to learn valuable life skills in an inclusive setting. Club Kulanu, Kulanu which is Hebrew for "all of us," utilizes both Camp Butwin and opportunities in the community to help participants learn about and experience activities in four key areas:
- Job Skills: responsibilities and behavior on the job, performing jobs at camp, volunteering in the community
- Recreation & Leisure: work out at the JCC Fitness Center, attend cultural events, visit local attractions
- Community Participation: grocery shopping, scheduling an appointment, accessing transportation
- Home Living: cooking, healthy nutrition, laundry, emergency preparedness
