The Award Winning Baubis/Zaydis & Books Program Begins it's 4th Wonderful Year


Baubis/Zaydis & Books is a collaboration with the St. Paul JCC Adults Department, The Early Childhood Education Department, and our extended St. Paul JCC Community. This award winning program meets Tuesday mornings when a Baubi (and/or Zaydi) Volunteer visits the Early Childhood Department to share pre-selected storybooks with the children.

In turn the children draw their own pictures of the stories that they present to the Baubi or Zaydi establishing a one-on-one connection. This allows the Baubi or Zaydi to meet the children offer them a Baubis/Zaydis & Books sticker and of course a small sweet treat (just like our own Baubis and Zaydis might have done for the Kinder).

The result is a warm, engaging, entertaining and always-amusing time developing new intergenerational friendships, promoting literacy and enhancing the day for students and Baubi/Zaydi volunteers. Our success is measured in the ownership and enthusiasm of our ongoing and new Baubi/Zaydi Volunteers and the excitement, anticipation and smiles of the children as they are on their way to a new Baubis/Zaydis & Books session.
