Thanks to a generous gift from Pat and Harold Kaplan, the new softball and soccer fields are the first step in creating the camp's "Field of Dreams." Shown here are four generations of the Kaplan family (L-R): Bella, Esther, Benjie, Jamie, Jennifer, Harold, Bob, Pat, Naomi and Reuben Kaplan.

Butwin Video

Camp Butwin, one of the most beautiful camps in the St. Paul area, is located in Eagan on 84 wooded acres surrounded by Lebanon Hills County Park. Children play in a safe, stimulating setting and use a heated outdoor swimming pool with changing rooms, a lake with a boating area and a sandy beach, a challenge course and climbing tower, softball and soccer fields, areas for crafts, nature, and theatre, archery range, recreation buildings and covered shelters. The addition of the St. Paul JCC's Lodge on the Lake completes our camp setting with an authentic and rustic feel. Camp Butwin creates a friendly and cooperative atmosphere which fosters individual growth at the camper's own pace. Campers are encouraged to learn new skills and master old ones, to express themselves creatively, and to grow in their ability to relate to others. In this supportive environment, a true sense of community develops.

Camp Butwin is accredited by the American Camping Association. Before and after-camp care at the JCC is available.
