Counselors in Training Program


The Camp Butwin Counselor in Training (CIT) Teen Leadership Program

Have you got the Camp Butwin spirit? Do you love working with kids?
If you are entering 9th or 10th grade, then our Counselor in Training (CIT) Program is for YOU! We know what you want - the opportunity to gain leadership skills, make some money, and have a lot of fun all summer long. Join our CIT program and be a role model to our younger campers, develop your skills as a counselor, bond with other teens and make new friends. Throughout the summer, CITs work with campers and are mentored by senior Camp Butwin staff. Plus, you will tend our community garden and go on CIT-only field trips, evening activities and overnights.

CIT Options and Fees
Session I: $490
Session II: $490
All Summer: $980
CITs receive a stipend of $5 for each day worked after successful completion of each session.
Payment is due in full by June 1, 2012.

Pre-Camp Training: CITs

Community Garden Fundraiser Carwash: Sunday, May 13
CIT Orientation: Sunday, May 20
CIT Training: Thursday and Friday, June 14-15

Important 2012 Dates:

Session I: June 18 - July 13 (no camp July 4)
Session II: July 16 - August 10

CIT Intiatives

This summer, as part of the CIT program, participants will have an opportunity to plan and develop a camp community garden, and to then lead all ages of campers in its upkeep and health. With success of this program, CIT's will hone their leadership skills and camp-wide connections, while also contributing to a "greener" Butwin. Participants will also be involved in service oriented and leadership outings throughout the metro area. Trips may include but are not limited to: canoeing on the St. Croix River, training in disaster relief with Nachama, flight simulation demonstration at Delta Airlines headquarters, or an afternoon with Eagan Fire and Rescue.

How to Apply
Registration for the 2012 CIT Program begins January 15, 2012 online at www.stpauljcc.org.
Online applications must be completed by April 1. Please call 651-698-0751 if you are unable to complete online registration.

As part of the application process all applicants must complete an interview. Interviews for CITs will be scheduled throughout March. Space is limited-placement is not guaranteed.

CITs must complete medical forms (on-line) before participating.
