Stingrays Swim Team



 The St. Paul JCC is committed to offering a quality swim team with emphasis on teaching the value of competition through teamwork, sportsmanship and doing one's best. The St. Paul JCC swim team program strives to offer a well-rounded, values-centered program for every member, from the youngest and newest members to our veteran swimmers. It is our goal to offer age specific training for all our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of their abilities.

The secret is not necessarily to produce great swimmers,
rather to produce great, young people who can swim.

Stingrays Winter Swim Team (ages 7+)
Sunday, January 8 - Thursday, March 8
Practice Times: Sundays: 3-4 pm
Tuesdays/Thursdays: 5-6 pm
$200 includes goggles and a long sleeve t-shirt

Kirsten Mangnuson
Winter Stingrays Head Coach

Kirsten grew up in St. Paul. Swimming has been an important part of her life since she splashed in the water as a child, to her freshmen year of college at the University of Wisconson - LaCross. She is excited to coach the Stingrays winter team!

Conditioning Clinics
Tuesdays and Thursdays, April 10 - May 24 • 4:30 - 5:30 pm
$112 members
This clinic is designed for swimmers who are looking to improve their swimming "habits" and start conditioning their bodies for the summer swim team season. Concentration will be on tight streamlines, proper breathing, efficient turns, proper stroke technique and endurance training.

Stingrays Summer Swim Team (ages 7 -15)
June 14 - August 2
Practices: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:45 - 9:45 am
and Tuesday, Thursday 10:45 - 11:30 am
$250 includes t-shirt and swim cap
JCC members only
Camp Butwin participants: Practices are Monday-Thursday, 4:30 - 5:15 pm. There are
no afternoon practices on swim meet days. Campers will be picked up at Camp Butwin
for swim meets. Return transportation to the JCC will be provided after the meets.

Adam Groebner
Summer Stingrays Head Coach


Adam Groebner
Adam has been with the JCC Swim Teams since 2008. He brings his enthusiasm and passion for the sport, each day that he is on deck. Adam has extensive experience both in and out of the water. He was the swim team captain during his time at the University of St. Thomas and currently serves as the assistant coach girl's swim team at a local high school, where he teaches Spanish. Adam encourages each swimmer to do his/her own best and to enjoy his/her time in the pool.
