Conductor Marina Liadova grew up in Moscow, Russia. She attended Gnessin Music Academy, where she also taught for 10 years, starting at the young age of 18.

While in Moscow, she pioneered a youth opera troupe, where she created and produced many original shows and commissioned several new operas, including "King Matiush" by Lev Konov. Marina's orchestral studies led her to the esteemed maestro and conducting coach Alexander Vitlin.

She also studied with such well known masters as Michael Charry, Ken Sheppard, Gustav Meier and Kenneth Woods. Marina moved to the Twin Cities in 1990 and shared her time between Minneapolis and Eau Claire, WI. As Music Director, she collaborated with several theaters, including Park Square Theater, Lakeshore Players, Theater in the Round and most recently TheMovingCompany. She is currently serving as the Music Director and Conductor of Gilbert and Sullivan Very Light Opera company.

Become a Friend of the Arts at the St. Paul JCC

The arts inform and engage us, subtly and deeply, and give meaning to our shared experiences. But as with most non-profit arts presenters, the JCC relies on grants, endowed funds and individual donations to make ends meet. Ticket sales are only part of the equation. Your support ensures the St. Paul JCC can continue to bring high quality arts programming to our community.

You can support arts programming at the St. Paul JCC with a donation to the JCC Friends of the Arts fund with a pledge of $36 or more. We have renamed the “Friends of the Symphony” fund and invite you to support all JCC cultural arts programming by joining “Friends of the Arts.”

We'd like to Thank...The St. Paul JCC Symphony thrives thanks to the creators of the Marrinson Fund, David M. Stein Orchestra Fund and Grace D. & Max Granzberg Scholarship Fund for their continuing sponsorship. Thank you also to the musicians of the JCC Symphony whose contributions both creatively and financially keep the music flowing in our center. Every year, more than 1,000 people enjoy free concerts offered by this wonderful ensemble.
