Jewish Learning & Living
The Department of Jewish Learning and Living at the St. Paul JCC offers a varied palette of Jewish-perspective programs that reach out to the diversity of our Jewish community. Classes, exhibits and activities enhance intellectual, emotional and spiritual wellbeing:
- Family Programs:
Families are the central Jewish institution and the St. Paul JCC has a number of programs to help families celebrate, learn, and have fun together in a Jewish environment. For example, Mishpacha Mornings is a monthly gathering for Jewish and interfaith families with young children (2-5) to socialize, create special ritual objects, play and discuss Judaism and families.
- Interfaith Programs:
In addition to opening up every program to the entire community, we welcome members of interfaith families to participate in our programs and activities. If we are not meeting your needs, please let us know!
- Adult Learning Programs:
Jewish education is not just for children, and the St. Paul JCC offers a variety of classes, lectures, and programs to engage your mind and spirit in Jewish educational pursuits. We offer Hebrew classes for all levels of learners, the internationally recognized Florence Melton Adult Mini-School, a Torah study group, and lectures on Jewish topics such as history, Jewish values, and Israel.
- Jewish Holiday Celebrations:
The St. Paul JCC is your place for preparing for or celebrating the Jewish holidays. Our programs create opportunities to make ritual objects with your family, learn about the background of the holidays, and participate in communal celebration. We even sell holiday foods and supplies through the front desk!
