Community Mitzvah Collection
December 13 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Be the Light celebrates the Jewish concept of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) and allows us to bring light into the lives of others.
Collection drop off will be held outside the main entrance of the St. Paul JCC.
We will be collecting for The Pajama Project and Hats & Mittens.
The Pajama Program is a non-profit that provides new pajamas and new books to children in need, many who are waiting and hoping to be adopted. Many of the children we serve have been abused or abandoned, and have never enjoyed the simple comfort of having a mother or father tuck them in at night and read them a bedtime story.
Collecting: Pajamas for toddlers and young children
Hats & Mittens raises money, collects hundreds of hats and mittens for homeless children, and increases awareness of smaller and emerging non-profits serving children. Hats & Mittens is a team of local professionals – all volunteers – who work together for the purpose of celebrating the season and helping children in need.
Collecting: New hats and mittens for all ages, but greatest need is teen sizes.
