My Son Wears Heels:: Twin Cities Jewish Book Series presents Julie Tarney

Thursday, May 18, 2017
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Event Schedule: Thu

$12 $8 Member Value Price

When Julie Tarney’s only child Harry was two years old, he told her, "Inside my head I’m a girl." It was 1992. The Internet was no help, because there was no Internet, and bookstores had no literature for a mom scrambling to raise such an unconventional child. A former PR Agency President, Tarney is now the author of the book My Son Wears Heels, as well as a blog by the same name. She is also an advocate for LGBTQ youth, a blogger at The Huffington Post, contributing voice for The Parents Project and the True Colors Fund’s Give A Damn Campaign, and serves on the Board of Directors of the It Gets Better Project.

This event is made possible by the Jewish Book Council.

Members must purchase tickets in advance to receive the Member Value Price. All tickets sold the day of the event will be $12.
