Dance! A Recital For Violin and Piano

FEATURING NORTHERN LIGHTS SCHOOL FOR STRINGS ALUMNUS MARC LEVINE, VIOLIN WITH GLORIA SHIH, PIANO.
Longtime collaborators, Shih and Levine are excited to make their Minnesota JCC debut with this rousing concert of the dance-inspired music of Paul Schoenfield and Astor Piazzolla. With both Baroque and modern influences the program will include Schoenfield’s dance suite Partita and Souvenirs, which includes a samba, tango, and even a square dance. Schoenfield’s piano solo Improvisations on Hassidic Melodies, and Piazzolla’s Tango Etudes for solo violin and Histoire du Tango will round out the program.
