For the love of learning.

The Fanny and Barney Shear Library of the JCC is always open for you to enjoy.

It’s a quiet place to read, work, and find books by Jewish authors and about Jewish topics. To open the stacks, simply ask the Front Desk receptionist for the key. To take home books, bring them, along with your membership card, to the Front Desk, and they will be checked out under your name.

We have a rich range of fiction, memoirs and biographies, and books about Jewish holidays, observances, and spirituality. The Library also houses a wealth of books on the Holocaust – historical accounts, first-person narratives and analysis.

When you’ve finished your books (or films – we have those, too), there’s a “Book Return” cabinet by the window.

Happy Reading!
