From tailored one-to-one personal training for adults with developmental disabilities to regularly schedule adaptive programs, all in the inclusive setting of the newly remodeled Fitness Center.

 

SENSORY FRIENDLY SWIM TIME
SUNDAY, DECEMBER 15 • 9 – 11 AM
FREE FOR MEMBERS / $8 NON-MEMBER / $25 NON-MEMBER FAMILY PACKAGE (UP TO FOUR PEOPLE)
We are excited to offer a special swimming session, in which we modify the environment to create a calmer atmosphere in the pool, creating a more sensory-friendly environment designed for kids, teens, and adults with sensory processing differences, autism spectrum disorder, or developmental disabilities. The pool will be open to everyone during the event, just with some minor adjustments to make it a safe and calm place for everyone to enjoy. The music will be turned off, whistles will not be used within the vicinity of the pool, and staff will be trained and committed to understanding and supporting individuals with neurodiversity. The splash pad and waterslide will remain turned off between 9–10 AM and turned on between 10–11 AM.

ST. PAUL WELLNESS PROGRAM
Subsidized one-to-one personal and small group training tailored to the unique needs of adults with developmental disabilities. Work together with staff to create a customized training plan, stay motivated and focused on your goals while you build a relationship with a professional trainer who cares!

 

ASL WATER YOGA
WEDNESDAYS • 7 – 8 PM
Taking the principles and poses of traditional yoga and adapting them for a gentle stretching and strengthening experience that will leave you feeling relaxed and balanced. Without gravity, the body is able to stretch more deeply and move more freely, allowing you to tune into your mind and body, finding your breath and restore a peaceful connection to the world through your yoga practice. This course is taught in American Sign Language and works primarily the Deaf, Deaf Blind, Hard of Hearing or ASL community, but welcomes everyone for the cultural and language experience.

KAIROS ALIVE DANCE PARTY
MONDAYS, NOVEMBER 11 – DECEMBER 16 • NOON – 1 PM

You don’t have to know how to dance…. Kairos Alive guides your every step with simple movements to fun music. For all abilities — sitting or standing. It is high energy on the big screen participating with people across the country. Try it, it will lift your spirits.

 

PICKLEBALL
MONDAYS, NOVEMBER 11 – DECEMBER 9 • 2 – 3 PM

Join in the fun! Pickle ball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. Come see what all the craze with this fast-growing sport.

 

WATER AEROBICS
WEDNESDAYS, NOVEMBER 13 – DECEMBER 18 • 1 – 2 PM
No class on 11/27
Jump in the beautiful new pool at the JCC for light exercise and stretching. Nick Boyer, a Certified Personal Trainer or Seth Tersteeg, HFC Super Staff, will lead you through this fun hour of exercise. The pool is shallow, warm, and has a wheelchair lift. This class is FULLY INCLUSIVE and adaptable to individual needs. An all gender locker room, complete with showers and complimentary towels, is also available. Extra optional bonus: a hot tub visit.

 

GET UP, GET HEALTHY
MONDAYS, NOVEMBER 25 – DECEMBER 16 • 3:30 – 5 PM

How fun is Get Up and Get Healthy? As Charlie, a long time HFC fitness participant says: “EPIC!” Come make fitness and healthy choices a part of your life while having fun at the same time. Classes will include stretching, cardio, strength exercises in addition to learning lessons about healthy living and healthy snacking… and much more! All fitness and mobility abilities will bene-fit… we guarantee it or your money back!
