The Camp Butwin program is designed around a progressive program arc. As campers progress through different age group units, they will continue to explore new  developmentally appropriate program opportunities and special events , and choices each summer. Beginning in pre-k Taste of Butwin, campers experience the magical world of camp. By middle school, our Tzofim campers take pride in weekly mitzvah projects and longer off site overnight trips visiting overnight camps and state parks.

Along the way, campers experience late nights, overnights, and more.

This summer, we know things are going to look different. While COVID  safety guidelines may likely prevent us from offering the full suite of special programs and events that campers would typically participate in, we are still committed to offering diverse and developmentally appropriate activities for different age groups to keep your camper excited, connected, and engaged.

TASTE OF BUTWIN – ENTERING KINDERGARTEN
Taste of Butwin is our youngest camper’s first chance to sample the magic of camp, with a specially modified schedule, extra transition time, down time, and plenty of FUN!

GALIM – ENTERING GRADE 1
Galim campers explore the wide world of camp, including visits to our specialty areas, specially planned group times with their counselors, and chugim (choice time) to participate in special preferred activities.

SABRA – ENTERING GRADE 2
Sabra campers get their first taste of Camp Butwin after hours, enjoying special “late nights” each session, when they will stay after camp for extra fun with their friends and counselors.

KFAR – ENTERING GRADES 3 & 4
Kfar campers will look forward to  “late nights” each session, expanded offerings with camp specialists. K’far campers look forward to being in a “big kid” unit, with appropriate supervised independence and choice.

KIBBUTZ – ENTERING GRADES 5 & 6
Kibbutz campers experience expanded chugim choice time, with access to additional time at camp’s more specialized areas. This summer, Kibbutz campers will participate in late nights if overnights are not possible, capturing the magic of camp in the evening.

TZOFIM – ENTERING GRADES 7 & 8
Tzofim campers are our oldest campers. In addition to participating in the classic camp activities that make camp special, Tzofim will have the opportunity to help design and participate in special mitzvah projects and legacy projects during their time at camp. Tzofim will have the opportunity to participate in camp late nights, and our hope is to offer off site field trips if we are safely able to do so.

Please register your camper(s) for their appropriate age group unit as determined by grade. At this time, it is our plan for units and groupings to be organized as in a typical summer. If at any point we need to readjust groupings by age and/or grade to comply with shifting MDH/CDC guidelines  we will communicate promptly and transparently with any programmatic changes. As always, our priority is to provide the safest possible experience for your camper.
