Club Kulanu

2020 CampButwin_hero_1200x350[1]

Club Kulanu, Hebrew for “All of Us,” utilizes Camp Butwin and the surrounding community to create an amazing summer for teens and adults with developmental disabilities, ages 16+.  Every day is filled with unique and meaningful opportunities to learn as a group, grow skills in key areas, spend time outside, and engage in social and recreational activities—all while having a ton of fun!

RECREATION & LEISURE ACTIVITIES
Swim in the Butwin pool, go on horse back rides, rock climb on the staffed climbing wall, bring in outside instructors for unique art classes, and special programs

COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION
Volunteer at regularly scheduled locations, take field trips to local attractions, and dine at local restaurants

SOCIAL ENGAGEMENT
Develop relationships within age-group, participate in all-camp programs, work closely with hundreds of campers and staff, host partnering organizations such as Highland Friendship Club, Autism Society of MN and Epilepsy Foundation of MN

LEADERSHIP & LIFE SKILLS
cook healthy snacks, practice money-handling, grocery shop, beautify the Camp Butwin grounds, lead children in songs, job shadow and practice communication skills on the job

Club Kulanu provides a 1:5 staff to camper ratio. PCAs and direct care staff are welcomed if accompanying a camper who requires higher support.
