PRESCHOOL CAMPS
AGES 3 – 5

PLAYGROUND CAMP
JUNE 1 – 3 • 9 – 11:30 AM
Have some fun in the sun at our Playground Camp! Children will have the opportunity to learn and explore the outdoors. Camp emphasizes learning through play, incorporating a variety of themes helping children develop important social, group, and independent skills.

SAFETY CAMP
JUNE 8 – 10 • 9 – 11:30 AM
Safety Camp, Safety Camp, YAY, SAFETY CAMP! Come join us for fun activities and games as we learn about keeping ourselves and our community safe. Many fun things are planned including visits from very special friends, and of course fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, and so much more!

SPLASH INTO SUMMER 
JUNE 14 – 18 • FULL DAY ONLY
Who’s ready to soak up some fun? Grab your swimsuits and get ready to swim into Summer We’ll beat the heat with bucket loads of H20 activities. Water balloon launch pads, leaky cup relays and a super long slip n’ slide will keep campers cool this week!

ALL BALL
JUNE 21 – 25
Balls, Balls, and more balls!  In this camp we will play games, create art projects and snacks, that all have to do with balls!  We will play your traditional sports like basketball, football, volleyball, tennis, & golf and traditional playground sports of kickball, four square, whiffle ball and gaga ball!  We will try out a few sports that are not so traditional such as Bocce Ball, and cricket to name a few!  Continuing on our theme of “Ball”, we will even throw in some Ballroom Dancing and juggling!  Come join us – we are all sure to have a Ball!

PARTY IN THE USA
JUNE 28 – JULY 2
Oh, say can you see….how much fun this week will be… as campers celebrate the great Red, White and Blue! The week will be filled with backyard games, traditional American sports, American trivia, and so much more!  

HOOP IT UP BASKETBALL CAMP
JULY 5 – 9
The ultimate slam dunk experience for kids interested in improving their skills while having fun playing basketball.  Our professional curriculum teaches your child the skills needed both on and off the court through five key areas:  ball control, balance and footwork, passing, dynamic driving and finishing, and sharp shooting.  Emphasis will also be on total skill development to become a complete player.

ISLAND ADVENTURES WEEK
JULY 12 – 16
Come along with us as we get shipwrecked on an imaginary island for a week! We will start the week off on our imaginary island, and discuss how we will survive for the week! We will build a shelter from cardboard and newspapers and send a message in a bottle! After we get set up on our island, the fun begins with treasure hunts, wacky island games, a pirate and mermaid competition, island relay games and so much more! We will learn about different animals that live on the we will learn how to read a map. Our week will end by making a boat and sailing safely home!  

SOCCER CAMP
JULY 19 – 23
Elevate your skills to a new level!  From small-sided games to fun contests, our coaches will proactively challenge campers to exceed their potential through drills focused on offensive and defensive skills, dribbling, shooting, passing, and team development.  Players are placed in age-appropriate groups to ensure relevant and optimal training activities.

MISSION IMPOSSIBLE – SPY ADVENTURE
JULY 26 – 30
Calling all detectives! Your mission this week if you choose to accept it, is to have a blast at this week’s camp. We need your mystery solving skills, as we endeavor on a fun filled week of breaking top secret codes, missions, and overcome challenges!  

GO FOR GOLD
AUGUST 2 – 6
Campers are you ready to go for the gold? In this fun filled camp, we will take a trip across several nations to celebrate a week of friendly competition and learn about activities and sports that are popular in other parts of the world. We will host our very own Olympics by creating our own countries, run the torch in an opening ceremony and close it down with our very own medal ceremony for all of our competitors. Bring your game face campers – and go for the gold!

SAFETY CAMP
AUGUST 9 – 13
Learn about safety through interactive games, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. Topics include everything from bullying prevention to personal safety, to fire and water safety, and everything in between.

LET’S GET PHYSICAL
AUGUST 16 – 20
Who’s ready to move and sweat? Each day at camp promises to be an adventure! Explore different physical activities that will test your coordination, improve your balance, increase your endurance and show you that fitness is FUN! Our Camp will awaken your  love for exercise, enhance your  cognitive skills and promote working in teams. Learn different skills from different sports and learn about nutrition through interactive activities.

WHAT A DAY!
AUGUST 23 – 27
Each day is a surprise adventure! We might have Messy Monday with science and art activities that won’t keep us very clean, or have Totally Odd Tuesday! Wednesday might be Wacky Science with crazy concoctions and strange science – or just plain wacky! Who knows what Pick a Theme Thursday will bring? You’ll get to vote! Round out the week with Food Friday, playing with our food in imaginative ways – maybe something even freakier!

ADVENTURE ADVENTURES
AUGUST 30 – SEPTEMBER 3 • FULL DAY ONLY
Back by popular demand – with a NEW 2021 twist, is our ultimate survivor experience, JCC style! This year there will be new twists and turns at every corner imaginable. You and your friends will be challenged to compete in character building mental and physical competitions, outdoor exploration, cooperative games, agility courses, individual contests and so much more.  We will work in teams each day to earn points and work on leadership skills, as we help build the leaders of tomorrow!


WEEKLY SPECIALTY CAMPS

This summer, we will be relocating our week-long sport and art specialty camps to the JCC. This decision allows us to more effectively socially distance, while offering quality programming on the Camp Butwin grounds, utilizing the space we have at camp to focus on classic camp programming.

AWESOME ROBOTICS ADVENTURE
JULY 5 – 9

Take off on a robotics adventure featuring LEGO® models with working motors and sensors! Work under guided instructions to build and program your models, such as giants, soccer players, animals and boats as we go on a fun adventure. Build a different model each day as we create, experiment and have fun!

STOP MOTION ANIMATION STUDIO
JUNE 28 – JULY 2
Create amazing movies with stop motion animation using LEGO® bricks. work to Produce your very own movie complete with dialogue, credits and sound effects.  Movies are copied to USB drives and sent home at the end of the week to show friends and family!

KITCHEN CHEMISTRY
JUNE 21 – 25

Can you power a light bulb with a lemon? Make an eggshell disappear?  Explore many other questions like these as we experiment with everyday materials from the refrigerator and the grocery store – for some colorful, smelly, surprising and maybe even tasty chemistry fun!

CAMP K9
JULY 12 – 16

Get ready for an awesome week working, learning and playing with dogs! Our partners at Canine Inspired Change will bring their therapy dogs out to the JCC where we will do agility and dog training, teach the dogs to do puzzles and learn dog inspired meditation. Canine Inspired Change believes in the power of love over hate, and through their dogs we access the power of love.

MASTERS IN CLAY
JULY 19 – 23

Be inspired by art created by Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, Edward Munch and Claes Oldenburg. We will recreate famous works of art like Monet’s Water Lilies, Munch’s The Scream, Oldenburg’s Spoonbridge and Cherry and many others, all in clay. Make room to display masterpieces!  The projects you create in this class are going to be amazing!

HOW TO DRAW CARTOONS
JULY 26 – 30
Kids, have you ever wished you were better at drawing cartoons?  During this camp, we’ll teach step-by-step techniques that will help you draw super cool (and cute) cartoons! From cute, cuddly puppy dogs, to kooky cool characters – we’ll do it at this camp. You will be impressed with how great your drawings turn out. Each child will receive their own How to Draw Cartoons booklet to take home!

NUTTY PROFESSOR
AUGUST 2 – 6
Drip, drop, goop, and slime; let’s be a Nutty Professor for a few days! Join us as we mix, bubble, pour, and test to see which experiment is the best. This camp is a must for kids who love to whip up potions, concoctions, and other marvelous mixtures. Many projects are chosen to take advantage of the warm summer weather, such as fizz popping paints, homemade sidewalk chalk, and so much more!! We will learn how to use equipment safely and correctly, have discussions before and after experiments, observe changes, predict, experiment with sequence steps, explore cause and effect through various materials, and so much more.

SAY “YES” TO THE MESS
AUGUST 9 – 13
This is the quintessential arts and crafts camp – a literal hodgepodge of activities and mediums that include crayons, pottery, clay, paint, duct tape – the sky’s the limit. We’ll use all the good crafty verbs to inspire – blending, carving, molding, sculpting, pasting, and painting…. FUN!

IF YOU CAN’T STAND THE HEAT, GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN
AUGUST 16 – 20
Calling all young foodies and curious kids – it’s time to explore your culinary side! Join us for a fun, mouth-watering week as we cook, bake, and explore our own creativity. Campers will learn kitchen safety and cleanliness, how to read a recipe, some new healthy habits, and so much more!  

MAD SCIENTISTS
AUGUST 23 – 27
Get blown away with us and become a scientist for a week!  Our young scientists will explore geology, become a crime scene investigator and learn about forensic science, space and create a model rocket, and how airplanes fly. Create a model rocket and build an airplane and a kite, as well as conduct explosive experiments and participate in edible engineering!
